What inspires the eight scenography students of the Ninth School when they meet in Nanterre-Amandiers to create the school pavilion that France will present at the Prague Quadrennial in June 2019?
To prepare the third workshop, Philippe Quesne had instructed the Ninth School to collect the images that the theme of the island and insularity arouse in each of them. They presented them during the third workshop.
The representations of which some extracts are presented here summon the different and sometimes contradictory facets of the island in the imaginary realm. They are voluntarily presented here higgledy-piggledy, unrelated to a one student or another because it is a whole. These representations form a part of the imaginary corpus of the ninth school, its common stock of representations from which, knowingly or not, the groups works.
Bon voyage!
